Novavino - Slovenian Wine Specialist
One of the joys of the dynamic wine merchant scene in the UK is the band of plucky fellows who hunt out the unusual and the obscure. The internet of course gives access to these specialists to all.
One such is Novavino, a specialists utilising there indepth local knowledge, to bring to these shores wines from Slovenia.

Six white wines are listed, ranging in price from £5.99 to £7.99 a bottle and six reds in the £6.99 to £13.99 range. There is also one sparkling wine, Emeran Reya Brut 2001, at £10.99. A mixed six bottle case is listed (£47.99) which would be a good introduction to the obscure grape varieties and how the country handles more well known grapes such as Cabernet Franc. Many of the bottles - the website pictures them all - are very trendily packaged.
Postal charges are set at just £4.99 for any sized order.

In respect of Slovenian wines you may find a lovely variety, ranging from Fresh and Fruity Rebula Quercus to Decanter Trophy winning wines Carolina White and Sipon Ice wine on the following site: latevintage.co.uk
Prices range from under £5.00 to well over £15.00 for some of the more rare and exquisite finds. I have personally enjoyed the Kristancic Pavo, Simcic Teodor and Sutor Sauvignon. Well worth a visit.

Almost twenty years ago, I had a very special wine from your region of the world. I am not sure if it was from Slovenia or not. I blieve the label name was “Trecha” or “Treka.” Does this sound familare to you?

Nova vino is proving impossible to find does anyone have any in depth knowledge of how to contact them or just buy slovenian wine in the uk
Hi, I recently had a delicious sparkling wine from Slovenia which was called “Valvasor” on the label (in celebration of the famous Slovenian scientist). Does anybody know if this wine would be the sparkling wine referred to by Nova Vino, or how I can get hold of this in the UK?! I understand that it was brought in specially for the event I attended.
