OBWC logoThe Old Butcher’s Wine Cellar is a family owned business and independent wine shop run by Paul and Angela Stratford who have been in the wine trade since the early 1970s. Paul was one of the first people to bring Australian and New World wines to the UK market. Paul and Angela are now returning to their roots and, together with the team at Old Butcher’s Wine Cellar continuing to source and specialise in quality independent growers from around the world. Old Butcher’s Wine Cellar has been established on Cookham High Street since 1988. The ‘Old Butcher’s’ name originated from the premises, a 17th century, Grade II listed building. This was originally the village butchery and abattoir, supplying locals with fresh meat, poultry and game. In 1988, after extensive restoration, the building was transformed into the Wine Shop and premises you can see today.

With premises in the heart of the village and online ordering of an impressive range of wines. Website is slick and offers good tasting notes – regular tasting sessions organised.
