Planet of the Grapes Wine Bar
Planet of the Grapes have opened a Wine Bar/shop type thing in Leadenhall market, London, less than 10 mins walk from Liverpool Street, Bank and London Bridge. They have a range of around 450 wines available by the bottle and a small but select range of wines by the glass.
What’s new about your wine bar, I hear you cry, well all the wines are priced at retail and to enjoy them in the bar simply add £10, irrespective of price. Therefore Mouton Rothschild 1983 priced at £225 will cost you only £235 to drink in the bar, as opposed to £500+ in other bars and restaurants, more realistically Louis Roederer N.V is £42 per bottle and Pol Roger N.V £38
All the wines are served in Riedel glasses and, to compliment, there will be serving platters of the finest meats and cheese from our Cheese in Leadenhall. Recently popped into the Leadenhall Branch for a brief spot of lunch.
My friend had a plate of cold meat, cheeses and salad - all fresh, which looked fabulous and was more than enough for one.
The recommended wine was absolutely superb and the atmosphere and service was excellent and made it a great experience.
The wealth of experience and service from the guy who I assume runs it, was spot on! I’m off again tomorrow.
