specialist wine merchants listed & mapped! (June 2019)

RAFFLES, Nailsworth wine merchant

Nailsworth wine merchant – On the very southern edge of the Cotswolds is an independent Cotswolds wine merchant with a shop/warehouse just off the High Street, in what was once an Old Fire Station (but pumps, ladders and protective clothing no longer  required):

raffles2Raffles Fine Wines was established by Marcus Smith in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds in 1978. Raffles Fine Wines was started, and continues, to specialise in wines that express ‘terroir’, offer value for money and are often only produced in small quantities. While France has long had the most prominent standing on the wine list, most of the major wine growing regions from around the world are now represented and as we find new and exciting producers, continues to expand.

Interesting and varied selection of wines. Just like a good bookshop, it is a joy to browse the shelves and discover some gems. Good, graphically rich website with easy navigation – details of the wines stocked and tasting notes but no online ordering. But good location with parking.
